Yuri's words cut straight through him. His face contorted - bringing him back to the days that followed the accident. "That's not fair," JJ returned. He had failed to keep face here. He tried so hard to maintain his cool.

"You know you wouldn't have gotten it if I had. Not with an army of disapproving friends surrounding you." There was no point, to JJ, of even trying to get past Victor, Yuuri, Otabek, and then his grandfather. JJ saw a giant wall placed in front of him. It wasn't one he could break down. Every attempt would have been stopped.

He realized, immediately, as he was talking that he was looking up at Yuri. Weird.

"So don't give me a problem about disconnecting instead." A frown. "So yes, I still feel bad it happened, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go easy on you."
