A TIME QUAD FLIP FOR AGALIO!
Not every driver could be perfect 100% of the time. Otabek did his best. In fact, that day he wasn't legally at fault. The other drive was the problem. Yuri couldn't remember the accident. Probably for the best. It meant he couldn't remember his injuries at the worst time. He was told there was a lot of blood, that Otabek had managed to save himself from anything severe, and honestly if it wasn't for Otabek, Yuri would have been dead.
The accident was bad, but it could have been worse. It could have been a lot worse than some broken bones, torn ligaments and road rash. It did mean skating was on the back burner for awhile. Something that was extremely difficult for Yuri to take for over a year of recovery. It was going to be longer than a year. Depression clung hard and it made that first year very difficult.
The angry teenager was angrier. Cabin fevered, irritable, snapping at anyone and everyone. Then there were the moments of just depression where he didn't want to get up and do anything at all. What would be the point? He probably wouldn't be able to skate again, not like he used to.
It didn't help that he was rather suddenly cut off from what he would call his 'source of entertainment'. Apparently his Grandfather wasn't pleased with what he found on Yuri's phone. Threatened legal action, the whole thing. Yuri ended up with a new phone, his old one kept by his grandfather.
Harsh.
At least Yuri had a friend that was allowed near by. A few actually. During the off seasons he was visited by others. Victor, Yuuri... both would be retired by the time Yuri skated again, if he ever did. It meant Yuri would never get to skate on the same ice as Victor.
More depression followed that realization. Otabek felt guilty, Yuri knew that. He probably didn't help in that first year, reacting out of anger, saying things he shouldn't have said. He was eternally thankful for Otabek's patience. It was because of his friend that Yuri started recovering properly, regaining strength.
The scars he had were covered over with increasingly intricate tattoos, as he had little else to do except sit about. The idea came from.. well, he'd never admit it openly. His grandfather was happy to sign off on anything Yuri wanted at that point to make him happy and to help hide away the remaining reminders of young talent almost lost.
Almost.
Because Yuri was back on the ice.
Yuri had grown taller, reaching five foot seven and three fourths though if you look at his identification it said five foot eight. Only when standing next to Yuuri Katsuki or anyone else of that height did it seem slightly off. He wore heels more often than not anyway, making him taller than even Victor. He'd been short for so long, he liked to be tall. He was still long limbed and had adapted to the changes in his body quite well, probably because as he was growing he was recovering.
And his hair.. He had allowed it to grow and it hung past his shoulders now, often held back in some form of braiding or pony tail. Today it was a loose braid hanging over one shoulder, as he was just here to get a feel for the rink.
He hadn't posted on the social media networks in awhile. Everything was private on the majority and the skating SNS... he just hadn't put anything up. Not until about a week ago, at least. It was a photo of his old skates beside his new pair, the blade black with an etched red pattern. His heel was a bit higher than normal, he liked the look of it.
His phone had exploded with notifcations. Three years since his last time seen on the ice! And his doctors weren't exactly overjoyed. Yuri had pushed hard to be here, and his grandfather was glad this first competition Otabek would be there. The young man was a good friend and Yuri's grandfather was too ill to come.
It was nice to know people were still happy for Yuri to come back to the ice. He'd missed out on other skaters. Victor, Yuuri, Chris.. It was frustrating, but he still had years left. Yuri felt good enough to get back out there. He wasn't going to sacrifice any more years.
He sets his skate down against the ice, holding on the half wall with both hands. He takes a deep breath, knowing he probably should wait for Otabek, but... It was a competition rink. There were one or two skaters there just getting a feel, so Yuri didn't feel too nervous. He brushes his hood down, his clothing the same body hugging styles he always enjoyed.
There were new skaters around. Then the faces that he hadn't seen in awhile. He didn't approach anyone, wouldn't. He needed to focus. So he starts the warm up, drifting around the rink. It felt so.. good to be back here. It was just a stupid qualification competition, but his end goal.. Grand Prix.
He was going to get there. He was going to get another gold, and he intended on breaking more records. He fits his earbuds into his ears, making it very clear he didn't want to talk to anyone, even people he knew right now. Instead he just skates, letting himself go into step sequences made up on the fly and few small jumps, singles and doubles, just to get his muscles going.
This was just to get a feel, he reminded himself. The others were here for that same reason.

"If you plan on ever fucking me again you'll actually try calling."
Yuri would be taking the gold. It was as simple as that. JJ hadn't accepted that yet, so Yuri would have to show him again and again.
no subject
"Not like I planned on fucking you today," he said. He just planned on seeing him, but this seemed to be a natural end for the day. "But phone calls first, whatever."
He had no intention of letting Yuri win, and no intention to let it be easy for him. He always worked to make each routine harder than the last. And this one would be.
no subject
He kept it clean and simple for this competition. JJ had yet to see everything Yuri could do.
He looks over at JJ then leans over to pick up JJ's other shoe. He ties a few knots into the laces before tossing it back on the floor.
"Would you actually be calling then?"
no subject
At the very least, it will be an interesting Grand Prix.
"Yes." His eyes fell on Yuri, almost finished working through the knots. "Will you answer? Because I won't bother wasting my effort if you won't answer." He untied the last knot, slipping the shoe onto his foot, and working on tying it.
no subject
"I'd answer, if I felt like it. Or wasn't practicing. Or didn't know it was you."
The last was just a little shitty aside, trying to goad JJ just a little into responding to the teasing.
no subject
"I'm so hurt, Yuri." He starts on his shoes again. "Then I'll just have to call until you answer." He didn't think Yuri would like that answer, of course. He was mostly joking, though. He knew if he really wanted to see Yuri, and the call wasn't successful, the only other option would be to just show up.
no subject
"I guess I would have to block your number after awhile... just so I could focus on practice.. Need to stay on the top of my game so it's an even bigger defeat for you."
no subject
"Of course you do. I thought you wanted me to leave." Maybe he didn't, though.
no subject
Yuri shifts a little closer, pressing his lips against the side of JJ's head, beside his ear. He's shifted so his free hand can slide up JJ's leg.
"I always want you to leave...Oh."
His accent gets thicker then, as he whispers into JJ's ear.
"My English is messy.. I meant I always want you to come"
no subject
His thumb moved over Yuri's hand he had caught. It was slow, gentle motions. "But you know I can't say no." He couldn't resist Yuri. He didn't necessarily want to. He liked this time with him, and they had three years to make up for. "As long as you want me to come, I won't leave. You know you've only ever had to ask that of me."
no subject
Clearly there were other options. JJ couldn't be sore front and back after all. They could go back to the more familiar for another round and he hoped JJ would understand that was the option being presented.
Yuri shifts, pulling himself across JJ's lap. He finds familiar lips and kisses them. It was warm this time, a long yearned for want being poured out.
no subject
JJ returned the kiss earnestly. It was filled with three years of want and need to be close to the person who occupied his mind, even when he didn't want him to. His hands drifted upwards, resting on either of Yuri's cheeks, as he held the other's lips to his own.
He panted a little against the other's lips, his tongue pushing past them.
no subject
His fingers tangle in JJ's hair, the same damn haircut the man always had as he kisses harder and deeper.
"I'm not letting you leave this room..." His voice was soft. "I'm not letting you run back to Canada."
no subject
His arms wrapped around Yuri's waist. He returns the kisses eagerly, but then Yuri says it. He feels his heart beating harder than ever. Part anxiety and worry, part excitement to be wanted like that.
"I never wanted to," he said. His voice was quiet. "I'm not going to now."
no subject
"I don't believe you and I want you to prove it. That this is all you could ever want."
Maybe a little domineering and demanding but Yuri didn't care. He wanted JJ to finally cement what Yuri knew this all was.
no subject
His fingers tripped Yuri's face tight, focused hard on the other. "Tell me. I'll prove it to you." In that moment, he probably would do whatever was asked of him.
no subject
Yuri decided he didn't want to make it too easy on JJ. He wanted the man to have to learn to read him. To have to stay around long enough to understand Yuri better than he had before.
Just JJ staying would be a fine start.
"You should be making me as sore as you will be right now."
no subject
He was grinding his hips up against Yuri's, fingers fumbling around for lube. He said then, in Russian, "I want you more than anything. I even learned some Russian, Kitten."
His pronunciation was alright, better than any past attempts. He had tried over the past 3 years to learn and get better. He wanted to be able to share Yuri's language for him. "No more difficulties here." He also felt like it showed how much more serious he was about staying here.
no subject
"Your pronunciation is a violation to my ears." He whispers back. Then he switches to that language he abhorred so much, that supposedly romantic garbage.
French. Ew.
"Perhaps you should try harder." Pronunciation was almost perfect, but that thick Russian was indisputably undercurrenting ever syllable.
no subject
"Beautiful," hes said in Russian. "In time, it will be perfect." And then, he added. "I'll stick around until you make me leave." No one, not a single other person, would be able to force him away from Yuri. He fell confusingly hard for him years ago, and what he felt never vanished.
He lifted his hips to get out of his pants, settling the bottle of lube had fumbled for next to him.
no subject
Even if it was something he didn't necessarily enjoy. Maybe he could come to like it better now that the one person who spoke French that he liked was back.
"I'm not going to let you leave." The hands were becoming possessive as he pulls at JJ, lips finding the man's to kiss and bite.
no subject
"Or I'll go with you," he said. Clearly, he wasn't going to make Yuri come back to Canada with him. He didn't want to make him do anything. He wasn't sure the other would like it. But he was willing to stay here in Canada.
He liked the feeling of being wanted again. It had been awhile since he had felt like that. He leaned into the kiss, moving his tongue. He fumbled with the lube for a moment, fingers coated with it, before sliding a hand down Yuri's back, resting one hand on Yuri's ass.
no subject
"I don't care where."
It was a quick thing to blurt. Yuri thought he might care but honestly, he found he didn't. He wasn't sure how well his career would work, parted from Russia but he didn't care. Maybe JJ would bend and accept that he was getting too old anyway.
He presses hips forward, grinding against JJ's hips. That hand, oh it was going exactly where he wanted it to go and he moans aloud for it.
"Come on, stop holding back on me.."
no subject
He slid one finger inside of the other. It had been awhile since he had felt this, so he was taking his time to enjoy the way that it felt.
"You do care where," JJ noted quietly. Maybe after they both retired, it wouldn't matter. Maybe they'd just do somewhere different entirely. That was a long time down the line. Yuri had a good ten years left in the sport. JJ had maybe five.
"So I'm going where you'll be."
He added a second finger. Yes, he was taking it slow, but the moans he would get were worth it.
no subject
"Follow me all over the world if you want, so long as you enjoy silver medals."
A little dig but it was being swallowed up by a moan. Yuri's fingers curled against JJ's cheeks, nails digging in. He wished JJ would get on with it but this also.. it wasn't bad. It was nice to have someone be attentive.
