Well it's going to be a bit, its proving a little more difficult than expected.

So Vanitas had a house in Mahogany. He might have bought it. He might be renting it. Or he honestly may have just taken up residence in an unoccupied house because he wanted to. Who knows!

But that's where he had invited Yuri to stay while they were spending some time in the town and it felt like a week had gone by extremely fast. The plan was to head out in two days time to make for the Ice Path--so Yuri could do his ice dancing or whatever it was--before making the way to Blackthorn.

"Hey, your highness!" Vanitas called out as he came down the stairs of the cozy little three bedroom house, Flood drifting along after him as she chit-chatted with Undertaker the Cutiefly and Flick the kitten, who was hopping down the stairs after them. "Did you ever get cold weather stuff like I told you to or do we need to go shopping?"

Yuri may have rolled his eyes at the nickname. Was he always really going to be called that? Whatever. It wasn't a big deal. It was better than 'kitten' or 'fairy' which were things that happened way too often back at home.

"I got what I needed. I'm perfectly capable of running my own errands, thank you very much."

Zorya darts by the couch where Yuri had flopped himself, carrying what looked to be Vesna's flower in her mouth. Vesna was chasing with an angry scree.

Potya rolls her eyes, hopping off of Yuri's chest to wander over to Vanitas, twining herself elegantly between his legs in greeting.

"I never know with you. Figured it'd be safer to check then just assume," Vanitas drawled with a grin as he knelt down to scoop Potya up, rubbing her ears rather affectionately. "Did you end up trying the gym or no?" He's honestly just curious; it hadn't been that difficult for him but by the time he'd tried it he'd gotten a good jump on leveling his Pokemon.

Flick let's out an amused snicker as Zorya runs by with the flower followed by the angry fairy, prancing off after them to watch this play out while.

"Hello, pretty kitty~" Flood purred as she leaned over Vani's shoulder, reaching out with a wispy hand to bat at Potya's ear while Undertaker took up residence on Vani's other shoulder looking rough and tumble as usual.

"Wow. You know, I did most things on my own back in my own world. I kind of had to since I was travelling so much." He was starting to wonder if Vanitas thought he was seriously some kind of royalty or not. Which was fine, it was just amusing to hell to Yuri.

Zorya found a corner and produced her small carved shiv. Then.. she starts chopping the petals off the flower, the blue petals fluttering into the air at her attack. Vesna clutched her cheeks and screamed at the flora murder before trying to pry it free of the angry little Pichu.

Potya was doing happy paws in the air, quite content that Vanitas clearly folded to her charms. Everyone always did eventually. She flicks her ear at Flood, looking up at the pair with an even louder purr. "Hello, Flood~ Has that kitten been giving any trouble?"

"I haven't, no. I don't like losing. I think I'm going to train up these guys a little more before approaching a gym. If I'm going to do it I might as well do it right, you know?"

[When the video clicks on it's Gem the Carbink that's in view, the little thing bobbing back and forth as it makes sure it actually did it right before drawing back some, ears flicking.]

Yuri? Are you there?

[The sound of it's voice draws Link's attention and he let's out a surprised sound as he comes over to snatch up the 'gear--and Gem--eyeing the Carbink before he looks at the 'gear.

He smiles weakly, clearly still not caught up on sleep after everything, but hey, he's been trying.]

Link says hi! We were worried about you!

Yuri picks up the gear when it jingled for his attention. He was feeling far better now that he'd gotten some sleep and he was at least used to a tight sleep schedule at home.

"Link! Gem! I'm glad to see you two too! I thought the forest swallowed you, I woke up and you weren't there..."

He needed to stop sounding so worried before he embarrassed himself.

Potya's head pops up by Yuri's elbow, a purrble escaping. Then she was raised up as Simargl lifts his head under her to see too.

There was a screech and Yuri had to lean down to pick up Vesna because she wanted to say hello too to their new friend.

"You look tired still, still haven't gotten enough sleep?"

[Link smiled as Yuri and the trio came into view, waving at all of them as Gem giggled in delight.]

The forest didn't swallow us, silly! We just ended up back here!

[Here being Kanto but you can't expect Gem to be specific.

The blonde looks a bit sheepish as Yuri mentions not sleeping, shaking his head after a second. Nope. No easy sleep here. He couldn't get that lucky.

There's a high chirp before suddenly Teba the Fletchling is on Link's shoulder, fluffing up his feathers as he hops on his trainer's shoulder, letting out a few greeting chirps.]

Link wants to know if you got somewhere safe.

[ Gross, thought Yuri when he realized who it was from. But.. the style was really nice... Too bad he didn't get the opportunity to try it on because it was stolen promptly by Altin.

It was a little tight around his fur so it fluffed out awkwardly but Yuri sent the picture anyway of him sitting and staring with adoring eyes at the picture. ]

My stupid bear likes it.

[Recorded Video Message] - Evening of February 23rd

[The message comes late Friday evening after several days of Vanitas not even sending a text message to Yuri. The hum of the Magnet Train's engine can be heard as the video starts, clicking on to focus on a pile of sleeping Pokemon in the seat across from whoever is holding the 'gear. Scrapper is laying across the seat, head resting on her paws as she dozes, ears perked in a clear sign that she's ready to snap awake if she needs to. Flood is reclined against her, arms behind her head as she relaxes while Mr. Pickles curls up against her side in a ball of fluff. A small Klefki--a Pokemon that Yuri won't recognize--is settled on top of the Flareon, sleeping contently in it's nest of fur. Another newcomer, a Mawile, is also reclined against Scrapper with it's jaw-like head piece resting over itself like a blanket.

After a moment the 'gear is turned around and Vanitas is now in view, a tired look on his face as he manages a slight grin that fades quickly. Toppler is nestled on his shoulder, the Swoobat chirping at the 'gear before nuzzling against his trainer's neck.]

So..by the time you get this I'll be in Kanto most likely. I should have told you sooner what was going on but I didn't want to...look, I..

[He frowns and Toppler chirps softly to him.]

When I first got here, to this world, I woke up in Goldenrod, not New Bark Town like everyone else. I was apart of Team Rocket and have been since today. I didn't really think a whole lot of it and stuck with it because why the hell not but some stuff came up in the past few months and I decided to tell them to fuck off.

[They were abusing Pokemon. Simple as that.]

So I bailed. I'm heading to Goldenrod and I'm going to get Toppler and Flood de-chipped since apparently they've got microchips in them from Team Rocket. I'm probably going to get jail time or some crap like that but whatever. [A pause as he looks out the window, the frown he'd been wearing fading away.] I have to destroy my 'gear after I send this but I'll contact you as soon as I have a new one...please be careful, alright?

[He looks back at the 'gear and sighs softly, shoulders sagging.]

I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, Yuri. It just took me awhile to..not be the same asshole I use to be, I guess. Phial should be meeting up with you in the next day or so. I sent her to keep an eye out just in case Team Rocket tries anything and if..if you want to head to Kanto, she can bring you to where I'll be, alright?

[For a moment he fidgets, clearly wanting to say something but he refrains, letting his head fall back against the seat instead as he sighs again.]

I really am sorry, Yuri.

So I ended up at a Pokemon dance party.

Don't ask. It was weird but fun? Pokemon are so weird.

Got a new Pokemon. His girlfriend wanted to meet you. So now you have a new Pokemon.

[Along with the note that had been attached to the picture of Vanitas and a rather cheery looking Cacnea is a pink Pokeball--is that a Love Ball?--that, when opened, will reveal a very friendly and musically inclined Maractus.

The note continues:]

Take care of her. Quickstep and I will try to be good until we see you guys again.

[ A video arrives shortly after the Pokeball is opened. It is of a very cheerful Maractus having started a dance party among Yuri's Pokemon, even drawing Baba Yaga out to dance among them. ]

I named her Nita. She started doing this.
